Other Sponsorship Options for students
All learners are able to apply for sponsorship through CPS, although eligibility may be limited. We highly recommend that you seek funding through other sources that may be available to you. Sponsorships are only available for the Child Protection Studies Programme and the Diploma in Child Protection Studies.
Through the support of a number of generous funders, CPS is able to offer limited sponsorship to individuals to help cover a portion of the programme fee. The following conditions apply to all sponsorships: - The student must work directly with children, or for a non-Government (NGO) or not-for-profit organisation
- All programme and attendance requirements are completed
- Workbook requirements are completed
- A written report on the benefit of this training is prepared and submitted to CPS for presentation to the sponsors
- Separate confirmation is provided that the learner has shared with 2 groups or organisations within their networks ways to protect children and knowledge gained from the course
- A written report is provided outlining what the student does that is different to prior to the programme and a description of the person's actions as a child advocate
All students eligible for sponsorship must complete a sponsorship application form as part of th enrolment process. There are also several discretional funding schemes available to support training in the areas of child protection and associated subjects. You are able to apply for these through non-governmental agencies, community groups and organisations that have a clear focus on community services. Here are some ideas which may help: - Local service organisations such as Rotary, Jaycees, Lions and Zonta
- Internal Affairs Youth Worker Training Scheme
- Community Organisation Grants Scheme (COGS)
- Department of Work and Income Training Incentive Allowance
- Energy and Bank Trusts
- Specific Maori and Pacific Island funding
- Local Councils have Community Development funding
- Breakout - an information database of funding sources supplied by the Funding Information Service Website: www.breakout.org.nz
- Te Puni Kokiri has funds available to both individuals and groups for community-capacity-building projects
- Gaming Trusts and Pub Charity organisations
- Fundview – www.fundview.co.nz
- The Maori Education Trust has scholarships available to students undertaking CPS Diploma programme - www.maorieducation.org.nz
IMPORTANT NOTE Please note, that although CPS will do all it can to assist with programme fees through sponsorship, all students are required to make a contribution (as set by CPS). There are no guarantees of sponsorship. Our sponsors support the dream of CPS – New Zealand is the safest place in the world for children. To ensure we are achieving our goals, sponsors require stringent reporting. Details will be provided subject to sponsor criteria. |
